Now, that said, I have considered eliminating PP rewards altogether if you don't land a certain base number of hits since that type of leeching is starting to become a real problem. what about the people that are at the bottom of the group and can only land 0-2 hits per round though? The goal would be to make it so that you obviously put in a bit of effort, not hurt you if you are unable to land a large number of hits. I'm referring more to the issue where people attack for 5 rounds and then quit. That's a problem.

Yeah I have been testing this for the past couple days.
Because I am in G2 and am dealing such little damage to the boss (between 0 and 12,000 if I am lucky), if I hit it once and leave to go back to TSing, I gain 1 PP. If I continue to hit it throughout the entire battle, all 15 minutes of it. I gain 1 PP.
Which is why I said I think they should be time based. 1PP per 10 attacks or 1PP per minute spent fighting it.

since PP is participation points... then its value should reflect how much a player "participates" in the boss fights.
it can be based on (as sir Aion suggests).. -it can be minute-based -or number of attacks based
/me suggest round-based (how many rounds you actually participate whether u land hit or not(to be fair with TSers)

+1
Participation points for battle and TS exp/gold/drop boost would be great as well.
