Suggestion for the Participation and Killing Blow points

Yeah thatd be dope, give some incentive for stacking up these boss points

I actually really would not like rewards to be linked to killing blows with the current system. People would just stop hitting the boss right at the end, spam update to keep refreshing the boss health ( this would cause stress on the server as well ), and attack as soon as it's low enough. I really do not enjoy mechanics like that and I'd rather keep having boss killing blow not give a reward for this reason. I definitely would love to see uses for Participation Points though, as those are a much more fair reward in my opinion compared to using cheesy last hit strategies.

It is very difficult to "last-hit" the bosses with some of the (relatively) new changes to the way the boss refreshes work.

Some interesting ideas in this thread:

1. RP: RP has long been the number one plan for PP, being awarded in a milestone format. Almost certainly will get implemented.
2. Skill Points: Absolutely under no circumstances will Skill Points be added by any other means. More than 50 points will break the skill tree system.
3. Renown: Renown is purely a "reward" for spending money. No renown will be credited for any other reason. I understand your reasoning but renown will not be issued via another means, not to mention that this is actually the opposite of your reasoning.
4. Double Boost: not bad, but if PP is tied to RP, this is technically already somewhat "built in" and it seems a bit redundant to build a new mechanic that will give the player the same flexibility anyways.
5. Experience: This was discussed earlier in planning. Some of the issues with this are that TSers may not be interested in a battle experience reward. In addition, it is a bit difficult to scale, meaning that to be safe the experience given would have to be low. I'm not saying it's not possible, just that I'm not sure it fits that well.
6. Gold: same as 3. Can be purchased with RP
7. Mithril: same as 3. Can be purchased with RP


Quests: Could be achieved but if the system works as a milestone system for RP generation this is also redundant.

Boss killing blows: This was meant to be more of a fun system than a reward generation system, and I certainly don't want to encourage sniping. There is already an issue with people not fully participating throughout fights and I don't want to cause even more reason to only take a few hits. And no, disabling at 10% won't solve this since the last 10% of the fight is almost always the fastest.

As for PP distribution, there are two categories for that reason. It is based off of landed hits so surviving more rounds will help, which helps defensive builds. Now, that said, I have considered eliminating PP rewards altogether if you don't land a certain base number of hits since that type of leeching is starting to become a real problem.
