Heyo, Its Break. Now my idea is for us to be able to raise our own pets. This can add a degree of pvp (pet fights), customization ( different kinds of pets) and a way to enhance your damage. First off; How to get: Lower leveled approach A.) John registers on Blades Of Legends B.) John gets to level 5. C.) John goes to the town and buys a Wolf. D.) John picks out the details for Wolf by naming it Jerry and deciding it is a male. E.) John decides to play/train with his pet by using his autos F.) After a while, Jerry reaches level 5 and starts fighting mobs with John. Higher leveled approach A.) Break is level 26 but wants to take time out of his day to buy a pet B.) Break goes to town and buys a Horse. C.) Break names the horse, Sunshine and decides its a female. D.) Break plays/trains with his pet by using autos. E.) Pet reaches level 26 and comes along with Break to battle. Notes: You can battle with your pet from the start although if they die in battle they don't get exp. Other ways to raise it can be through rare drops called "Pet Food" that can raise a random stat by 1 for your pet up til your players stat. Your pet can go over your stats but they scale in battle differently and they need to earn the stats over your player. Also, Equipment can be made for pets as it tiers up. If anyone has any suggestions or feel like I missed something post below Break~

I talked to Stabby some more about this and we got some main points down.
Pets will drop off of certain mobs; You will use pet exp to raise the stats of your pets; Pets can not go over your stats; pet stats will scale with you at a 20% rate; Some pets will have abilities that will enhance your char; not all pets will be released at once; You get pet food from sources with a bonus depending on how many pets you collect. Drop rate decreases as the required mob level grows.
pet food will be used to give your pets bonus exp; Leaderboards for pets will be based off of current exp of your HIGHEST pet.
If y'all wanna throw out some ideas for what kinda buffs or abilities pets will give the player, Feel free. Any constructive comments are appreciated!

Maybe they can have accessories, that could possibly hold gems for the pets for buffs.
Meh I just want to see a flower crown implemented in the game soz >_>
But my idea is legit though.

I like this idea, something else to do than lvling yourself. Mainly I would like that you need choose to lvl you or pet. If we simply add like tax which goes to pet, it just another background running boring thing. Don't make it like: 5% tax and some shit happens some day. Pet lvl should be something that people has really put effort to it (look at mah pet lvl!!) Also, add leaderboard. Some kind bonding system could be cool, do x amount of action with pet to raise bond with pet to earn more bonuses.
Maybe we could add command /pet to chat, and our pet will say something nice about us depending bond lvl. low bond = I hate <playername> High bond opposite. Would be fun, avoid spam with 12 hours delay or so. Even randomly earn nice things via global. "Global: Jess pet has earn 25,634 extra xp to Player!" This idea doesn't really support many pets, but how about we could choose pet skills? So we can custom our pets. Reset skills will use bond lvl points or loyalty points.
We need some global love to this, so players can drool on it and get working their pets too. I will improve this more once I get at home.

Some suggestions I made in chat: -Pet-specific quests you can send you pet on, with a success/loot percentage based on pet level. (I originally suggested maybe the pets help you progress your normal quests while you were away, but that wasn't well received. So, I thought of an alternative.) -Global chat actions depending on pet. Example: "pyroguy7's dog pees on [Insert Name]'s leg." -For pet "abilities", to save on work, maybe their abilities could boost skill levels in the skill tree? That would get 30 pet abilities out of the way.
Someone(Nyima) also suggested a pvp (pet vs pet) element, which I think could be entertaining as well, which I agree with. Anything that makes the pets more than just an accessory to boost your stats.

I like the idea, here are some of my thoughts on this:
The Pet system could be treated like TradeskillS so you'd select Pet training from your list of options and then "train" them in the similar manner as you level in TS. This Requires you to put your progression aside inorder to level the skills you want to teach your pet.
Skills:
"Agility": has a % chance to trigger personal double, (cooldown every 1 hour). start at 10 seconds of double and maxes out at 60 seconds of triple? (may need rethinking) "Seeker": Increase drop rate by 0% to 15% "Fetch" increases the resources gathered by 0% to 15% "shimmer" Increases gem bonus by 0% to 15% "attack" Increases your damage by 0% to 15% "helper" Increases your crafting success rate by 0% to 15%. (or reduces reagents required) etc..
Your active "equipped" pet will then have their skills as a passive boost.
Pets are just a name except for them each having a racial based boost (25% reduction in training time for one of the skills):
Eagle: (agility) Horse: (seeker) Dog: (Fetch)
Pets can be bought in the pet store for gold/credits. Special ones available at certain times of the year: Reindeer (xmas), Rabbit (easter), black cat (halloween),etc..
Skills can be transfered from one pet to another for a fee (100 credits?), in transferring between different pets, the racial boost is lost (ie. you only transfer 75% of the racial skill to the new pet).
Reward Points given for certain milestones: every 10% of each skill trained?

implementing a pet system would be a headache but its great idea. i wanted to point out that pet should not buffed the player too much. maybe a small small percentage. -also chance to capture pet in respect to battling and tsing would be nice with a degree of rarity! -it can be tradeable too or "grinded" into pet food similar to scraps system.. haha.. sorry if im brutal to pets. i love a unicorn though.
