A suggestion that is completely apart from the normal grinding stuff!
Each player would have his own fief, in which he raises his minions to work and battle for him everyday!
Core ideas: Passive TS/Battle (maybe a separate Quest system?)
Offline gains (but you need to check them out every X time, I suggest three days)
Maybe "PvP" (player stats wouldn't influence it), with wars (guild or player-oriented) that would last several days/weeks and the player wouldn't have control over it)
Breeding minions (maybe autobreed, a passive gain of a complicated mathematical equation)
Training Minions (while online maybe you could host drill exercises?)
Interactivity stuff (while online you can help them on their quests, etc)

I'm not supporting on automation stuff. We need do effort to gain stuff, that is what RPGs are for. Yes, easier life could be good but in the end it could destroy economy.
If there would be any, I would make them help with clans. So using/upgrading them costs gold, but the farm xp/resources towards the clan.
As far I know, Stabzs is making progress faster time to time but like past +101 lvls since past there, you can only progress via tiers. Some kind of xp grind minions would be doable.
TL;DR: As far this is fun idea but unlikely to happen. /Supports things I said^
