Non Player Characters could be used instead of finding blueprints as prerequisites to crafting or enchanting. These characters might just appear by chance or might be always available in town or it might be necessary to find them. Perhaps, when a hunter gets to a very high level he or she could train to be a "Head Hunter" who is able to find artisans who will teach crafting or do the crafting, whatever.
Perhaps a warrior npc might join a player for a limited period of time, allowing that player to temporarily kill much stronger mobs?
Maybe a guild would be able to recruit a craftsman or a warrior. Perhaps food and wood might be used to host a guild feast which might draw such a npc into its quarters? Or maybe the guild would need at least one "Head Hunter" to search for one.
We enjoy building our characters and our guild. With more programming, the npc a guild or an individual owns might be able to increase its levels, becoming more certain of producing an item or being able to produce better items as it grows in proficiency?
