Along with Global Bosses, I feel that Clan Dungeons could be a nice event to add to the game.
They would also be another thing that the clans could work towards achieving, considering that sooner or later many clans will have completely maxed buildings. They would be opened by the leader of the clan, but only if the clan has reached certain prerequisites(Level?,buildings?,average player level?). Perhaps there could be some sort of "Altar" accompanied by a riddle or message that tells the clan what materials they would need to procure to open a certain dungeon; the materials would not necessarily be difficult to acquire, just difficult to determine what needs to be acquired. The resources or reagents, etc that needs to be offered should be in the possession of the clan leader, not from the clan treasury. Once a dungeon is opened there should be a time interval that the clan members need to enter the dungeon before the door closes. This would make it so that the clan can more easily organize their expeditions.
One of the major concerns of the boss invasions was that it would become uninteresting after 15 minutes. In dungeons, there would be several stages. Between the stages, events occur that buff, handicap, reward, or traumatize the dungeon explorers. Each area would have its own monsters that should scale with the player. An individual area would also have its own quest, similar to a normal quest, but shared between all members of the clan in the dungeon. Each area could also have it's own time requirement. "The ceiling will cave in 10:39". After several stages are finished by the adventurers, they would approach a boss room. This room would be similar to a normal boss, but perhaps have different scaling and battle mechanics, as well as thematic messages that relate to the dungeon that it originates from.
The reward for the dungeon could be mith, gold, or other currency. However, I think that a "trophy room" with a symbol of each defeated boss would also be appropriate. The boss would drop an item that is representative of it when it dies, and this could be placed in a trophy case with all of the other boss items that the clan manages to collect. Perhaps each dungeon's trophy could be "upgraded" with subsequent attempts, each one becoming more and more difficult. This trophy room should be visible to everyone in the game. (Perhaps a more reliable clan list than the leaderboards will by created)
There would obviously have to be limitations on the amount of dungeon expeditions and this is still a very much incomplete idea. Please improve this suggestion by punching a ton of holes in it.
