When a newcomer logs into the account for the first time, and begins to play, a pop up screen would show, saying welcome, and pointing them in the direction of the wiki. --- Eg: Welcome to Blades of Legends <Insert Name>! Please check out our wiki here: <http://bladesoflegends.wikispaces.com/Quick-Start+Guide> You can find load of information about the game and how to play it. Otherwise, you can find the wiki at the top right, near the log out button. Have fun! --- It can be frustrating to knew people, not knowing, and having to ask a question every 30 seconds. This way, they know immediately that there is a wiki, with all the infor they need.

I'm glad you suggested this There has been plenty of staff and community input for a tutorial or guide introductory system, but never a formalized suggestion. Other than the wiki link, what other information would be useful for a new player? Please add in any and all ideas. The most useful will get added into the tutorial system for new players. This system will be available for all players who have not completed it yet, although obviously the benefit will really only be there for new players. But there will be some sort of small reward for completing it.

I think, if it will be an interactive type thing, then the idea of the pop up firstly pointing the player to the town, in which he/she will end up at the "Teller's house" or something. A tutorial wide home, unique, for the lenght of the tutorial. From here, the player can accept the quest to find out what the Boss Invasion is, and then head back to the "Teller's House" to hand the quest in. Then, to the Tradeskill area top do 5 of each, then Battle area to kill a newbrat or three.
Then of course, on to the more 'missed' areas like the skill tree. (I didn't know I had skills till level 8 haha!)
Once a player has completed all quests, and seen all areas, he/she is given a reward, and pointed to the wiki, then the "Teller's house" disappears form the town, never to be seen again. xD
Something like this, perhaps?

It has to be very clear that you have to get 25 kills before you can chat, also there should be some incentive to interact with the community through chat right away. MineThings (ref link) does this by directing players to the chat from the wiki to get a one time use coupon code to get them going. I'm sure something like that could be done here. Almost 43% of my referrals don't even have 25 kills, so this is a big issue for me.

I like this idea. A lot of time is spent repeating the same things over and over to new players. Whilst obviously we don't mind helping new players along, there are obviously a lot that don't stick around and that is just a waste of everyones time haha. If there was some interactive kind of popups for new players saying go here to do this, get some weapons and start a quest etc that would help a lot of new players.

Why not give newbies a basic list to do to familiarize the interface? and in the end, the game will give them a Green wooden sword and 10k to start with?

A message directing new players to the rules would also be a good idea, so that new players are clear on what is disapproved of.
