First I want to say obviously, pvp is not something everyone is into. I understand this and as such it should not in any way be made to be mandatory. I've had several ideas about how it could be implemented in this game and this is what I have come up with. I'm going to outline it briefly, and give reasons for why I think it should be in this way. I greatly appreciate ANY comments and feedback that ANYone comes up with. Id like to see if we can come to a cohesive agreement on making something like this work.
Outlined features:
* DUELS (PvP) have the same drop chance (effected by credits/skills/buildings) as autoing in EITHER Battle, or Tradeskill. This means pbox/horn are possible.
* Simple limit on number of duels per day(/per reset) maybe 10? 20?
* New option in Town menu, "Duel"
* Duel option is an interface that allows you to type in a name, and send a duel request. Names are database shared so it can autofill/dropdown box just like when sending a message.
* When you send your duel request, the system will register your auto's at that time - so no attribute gains, gear changes, skill increases, will apply later when your duel is Accepted or Denied.
* Duels are HARD capped to TEN autos only (or maybe 20? Idk what will seem fair?). Does not matter how many autos you, or opponent may have.
* REWARDS SPLIT - there should be a reward table that splits the reward gain for dueling based on win/loss ratio. With battles there is xp/gold. with TS there is skill xp/reagent - with DUEL we could add a new benefit. (maybe ranks? or a "Fame" stat? Poissibly a Fame stat as a CURRENCY to buy differing pvp RANKS/TITLES as applicable)
* Duels are totally optional, so receiving a duel request can result in "Accept" (and then it runs your [however many autos] and duel begins vs the snapshot of the character that sent the duel) and "Deny" (fight is cancelled but STILL uses one of your daily duel attempts.)
Id like the duel system to be playable - a system where even if LEWD duels you, you would still accept the duel assuming total loss, and still see some benefit for your auto time invested in the duel.
If it is NOT possible, perhaps duels could go in real time in the auto battle system, maybe something like you can only duel players who are online, and must wait in the duel screen until its accepted/denied so that no other autos can be going at the same time?
If a new currency/ranking system cant be implemented the duel system should at the very least give XP + "something" whether it is gold or reagents as it is shared across tables for battle and tradeskill.
That's it off the top of my head right now, all criticism is welcome. I'd like to see something along these lines happen, and if not id like to see something else we can all agree on happen!
