A long-considered idea is that of adding Lore to the game. Please chime in on whether or not this is important to you and why.

"Moderate background story and character development"
Not enough would feel a bit pointless and an overload of lore straight away would be overwhelming!

Too much lore would bloat and limit the game. The game sets itself apart from others because it isn't bloated like the other ones, and it's great that way.
Imho, of course.

Well, if you mixed the lore update with a PvP update, making all the knowledge gained from lore effecting your PvP stats..... Basically making a separate set of stats for PvP, I could see that benefiting both the players wanting PvP and those players seeking a more rpg feel to the game.

The idea is that PvP stats are earned through gaining lore which is gained by doing different things in game, perhaps with some sort of story line idea or whatever, making you have to kill so much of this monster for one piece of lore, then mining so much for the next, hunting so much for the next, killing a different monster for the next and so on and so forth.
Perhaps with additional boosts for doing secret side quests of some sort.

I would add that all lore that is "important" to the story be able to be got for free. Some things could be for having a certain renown level, but if they are important to understanding the story, it would make people upset. And pissed

At least name the land!
But I think some lore would be cool. Don't have to go overboard like Elyssia is (even though I'm loving it), but adding something into the game would make it feel a little more like an adventure and less like I'm just clicking "Auto Fight."

I don't fully understand this lore thing but it would be nice get some story to the game. Though it will only work if we have also given goal by that story. therefore game needs more stuff in it. That EO's PvP idea sounds great! Feels like I need explore game way more to earn this lore ^^. Those quests seems fairly interesting instead of doing "Auto". Side quests can give you other stuff to do besides that. I might open thread what all these "lore/side quests" would be, they will be same to all and gets harder so you need actually grind some lvls to complete next one. Quite excited ^^ Got inspired with Stabzs so I made this: bladesoflegends.boards.net/thread/503/lore-quests-explore-game

It would be cool if you were able to choose your path (evil, good, flower princess) and in those you get certain benefits cosmetically - kind of like skills but only for ranks and possibly display.

Going for a moderate lore and character development. Still relatively new to the game, so much is still undiscovered by me.
Considering how much time, will be put into these lores, it would be prudent to start out with a moderated lore amount. A the amount of lore increase, so could the level of lore added to the game. Thinking about it, lore could probably be player based generated and send to Stabzs or some other affiliated part; like a moderator that could pass on the ideas.
For now though. This is what my vote will be. Even though I like a deep lore in games, I feel as previously stated by Prolatarian that too much would fend off potential new players and too little would be a so-so.

Maybe, being able to write your own history and descriptions of your char and have it available to set as your profile for others to see?
