Trying to think of a way to take the piss out of these fake boss jokers without changing the color of artifact items, seems like limiting to one item link per line would be a reasonable solution. I must admit I felt some schadenfreude when Stykes did the mutes earlier but it's not a permanent solution. Open to other ideas as well but this one seems reasonable to me.

I've suggested this before and I think a nicer solution is to change the colour of the boss warning away from red and perhaps to something hideous and unmissable like lime green for example.

I understand your point draavon. It's valid. I think whale has the right idea. Limiting the items is a good deal more difficult than choosing a different color for the boss. In addition, since people are already used to artifact red, it makes sense to reserve it for items and use something different for bosses.

It would also not stop players from posting 10 individual items in chat in a row and generally being spammy.

Great, yeah I wasn't sure about the programming side but that makes sense it wouldn't be trivial to prevent. As for someone still doing one link per line and spamming, that wouldn't look like a boss and would easily fall into the mutable offense category. Even so, sounds like a better solution may be at hand.

How about the chat announcement goes back to the standard global color and we also get a prominent toast? Maybe red with white font, to stand out from errors? Maybe it's wider than a standard one?
Edit: just noticed the error toasts have white font already, maybe something else unique then?
