I've been watching how many scraps I make for the last 41 levels now. Based on what I've seen, there is going to come a point sometime in the future where the high level players scrap needs outweigh the new players selling scraps and there's going to be issues. I know there will be more and more created gear as well and it will be passed around/sold/etc, but it seems that a new tier set should be slightly more obtainable.
At this rate I am basically saving all my scraps for 2 full tiers, 20 levels, and then I am left with enough scraps to make roughly half of the new gear I need. If this is the rate intended for new gear, then all is well, but I hope it's not. I don't expect to have enough scraps on my own to make a full set every 10 levels, but bypassing a full tier of scraps and saving all those should give enough to make a full set on the next tier, or much closer to it than 50% of what is needed.
The scrap market already has been cleared for the most part multiple times when just one player above level 100 hits a new tier. That is going to become more and more common as time goes on.

I think the whole point of the scrap drop rate is that people are supposed to sell on their armour, I just don't get why I barely ever see people posting their armour on the market after they're done with it.
I don't really feel like the problem would become more common though, once you get at the really high mob types, defence becomes completely irrelevant, every battle is just tanking one hit, and killing the enemy in two hits. You can't get enough defence to tank 2 hits, and your defence can't really drop low enough so you wouldn't be able to tank the 1 hit.
This made several higher tier players only buy armour upgrades every two tiers or something, which is what's helping keep the scrap demand down a bit, also the scrap cost does scale less quickly than the exp requirement scales at the really really high tiers, especially with how most of the higher up players have a ton of drop boost ( and how higher tier items scrap for more, while it also takes much longer for every tier to level through ), I think the supply vs demand will actually get fixed the more high lvl players are around with maxed drop boost.
Scraps has been around 17-18k for months now , even while mith and cred prices have gone up, scraps have been staying about the same, I think that's already a sign that increased supply isn't really needed, and it'll eventually get fixed by people going up too slow in tiers, while starting to max their drop boosts, the current prices also make people have to decide, which I like. Do they get arti+ every two tiers? Do they just get legendary+ every tier? At what tiers do they start getting legendary? At what tiers is it better to just do arti every two tiers or so? I like having the choices that come from this higher price, if the supply were to be increased too much, it would just be arti+ all the way.
TL;DR => Gold has been inflating yet scraps have been staying the same, I don't actually think there's a shortness of scraps, and high lvl players actually do fix the supply vs demand imbalance on scraps once they get drop boost.

You also find that within a clan, often gear is passed down between players which is a market-like transaction. - Why should you always expect to be able to have artifact gear? or more precisely, should you always be able to AFFORD artifact gear? It's a pretty solitary boring game if you always have artifact gear and it's always easy to attain. If you always have artifact gear is there any point in having Relic gear in the game? (scraps from pboxes is essentially an equivalent replacement for Relic items.)

I guess you didn't read the original post where I stated: "I don't expect to have enough scraps on my own to make a full set every 10 levels, but bypassing a full tier of scraps and saving all those should give enough to make a full set on the next tier, or much closer to it than 50% of what is needed." So I clearly said I don't expect to always have a full new set of arti gear, my question was on the scrap availability versus the overall cost of new tiers when bypassing tiers to save for future ones so one could have new artifact gear sometimes.

I think this is a dead suggestion. The issue is not really existent anymore. So I'm going to lock and reject it unless stabby wants to reopen it.
