Currently, it appears that all discovered gear, tier 1 (lvl 1-10), tier 2 (lvl 11-20) and tier 3 (lvl 21-30) can be worn by all players, regardless of their level. I suggest this creates a huge problem, especially for the economy of the game. The first person or group of persons to reach the next tier will have a complete monopoly on the higher tier items. This will happen as each tier is discovered. Is that a bad thing? One or a very small group of uber rich? I don't know, but I would think yes. Also, the lower leveled folks have a drastically decreased chance of selling their discarded gear. Why would a level 3 player buy a wooden sword, when a shiny copper sword is available to them? I understand they may not be able to afford it, but they simply "save up" a bit, using a random drop in the meantime. Meaning no sale for the guy selling the "lower tier gear". I completely understand Stabzs explanation of the fact that advanced gear only fractionally improves your actual damage. I understand the minimum damage per crit which he explained, but I also understand not everyone will hear about this or understand. They will want the best gear available on the market. Another possible reason for not allowing "out of tier gear" is to prevent artificial character inflation. Perhaps later when trading between players, a newb right of the boat can be handed a full set of top level gear. Is this a problem? I don't know. Anyway, just my thoughts.. love the game, just starting discussion. As I re-read this, it sounds like a rant or a complaining thread This was not my intention, I merely wonder about such a huge separation in classes and its affect on the game. Flagg

Howdy , thanks for the post.... actually this is being discussed at the moment....and there may be a change to the level tiers and who can equip certain items.....
As i said , it is still in discussion before a decision is made...

I think a nice way to keep the game from being flooded with gear is to allow us to break down/disenchant any rarity above white for different amounts of gem fragments. This would also give good base values to all the gear based on how many fragments it broke down into. That's after we can remove the gems from them As for whites, maybe let us trade in 50 or so for a pandoras box or something along that line. Gambling is always good!

The item destruction idea is actually already a work in progress, Rare. Though, it will likely give you something else in return - and you can break down whites as well. Higher rarities will likely give you more of the material and possibly have a chance to give you mithril.

so i should be using a stone sword not a copper sword because im level 6 and theres some kind of minimum affecting me while using my out of tier copper? There is a system in place that forces you to take a minimum percentage of damage from the mob, regardless of the amount of damage you can mitigate through stats and gear. It occurs on all mobs regardless of the current tier of gear you have equipped. You can lower that minimum damage percentage using the mithril skill "Resilience". The point was simply that the higher tier can only benefit you to a certain point because the minimum damage calculation will prevent you from moving up too many mobs despite your higher tier gear. The higher tier is better for you currently, however when the change has been implemented for gear restrictions, you will no longer be able to equip weapons/armor outside of your current tier. Stabzs has confirmed - if you have a higher tier item equipped when the change takes place it will remain equipped, but if you remove the item and attempt to re-equip it, you will not be able to until you reach the appropriate level.

Items being tied to Tier range is good... But what about the gems ??
Will they also be Tied limited ? What if a Tier 3 gem is placed in a Tier 1 Item ? Will the item stay as Tier 1 or change to Tier 3 ??

Will the item stay as Tier 1 or change to Tier 3 ?? I believe items will only be able to hold gems of equal or lesser tiers. So you should be able to put a Tier 1 gem in a Tier 3 weapon/armor, but not vice versa. The tier of the weapon/armor will never change.
